概述

什么是第九条?

“在美国,任何人不得, 以性别为基础, 被排除在…之外, 被剥夺…的利益, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” 第九条 of the 教育al Amendments of 1972 to the 1964 Civil Rights Act

第九条 is most commonly associated with equal opportunity for women in athletics. 然而,它远不止于此. 第九条 is a federal law prohibiting 性 discrimination in educational institutions receiving federal funding. While the two most common applications of the law are towards athletics and 性ual harassment, 第九条也适用于招生, 金融援助, 学术问题, 职业服务, 咨询, 医疗服务, 雇佣和雇佣.

我ḷisaġ维克社区的所有成员, guests and visitors have a right to be free from 性ual misconduct. Sexual misconduct includes but is not limited to 性ual harassment, 性ual assault and other forms of 性ual violence. If you have concerns or need to report an incident, please contact the 第九条协调员 or Investigator.

我ḷisaġ维克大学 Statement of Non-Discrimination

It is the policy of 我ḷisaġ维克大学 to provide equal education opportunities and to provide service and benefits to all students without regard to race, color, 宗教, 国家的起源, 年龄, 性, 性取向, 性别认同, 性别表达, 身体或精神残疾, 婚姻状况, status as a Vietnam era or disabled veteran, 或法律禁止的其他理由. 第九条 prohibits Ilisaġvik 大学 from discriminating on the basis of 性 in any education program or activity, 招生, 或就业. Helpful Information to Share with 幸存者 of Sexual Assault

  • 幸存者可以 随时与人交谈. 报道永远是一种选择. Choosing one route does not exclude other options. 幸存者 应该追求 whatever routes will be most helpful to recovery, and 这个途径 可能会随着时间而改变.

  • If a survivor wishes to file a criminal complaint, she/he should contact their local police department. Advocates (available through local shelters) and attorneys can accompany survivors.

学生培训

Safety is a priority at 我ḷisaġ维克大学. 学生 reach their highest potential when they feel safe and respected. 我ḷisaġ维克大学 is committed to providing training to all students and employees to foster respectful and safe classrooms and campuses.

All students are encour年龄d to take 第九条 Training annually. Residential students are required to take the training annually. Training is available through the online training offered through 我ḷisaġ维克大学.

In order for 我ḷisaġ维克大学 staff to respond effectively and proactively stop instances of 性 and gender-based discrimination, all employees have been designated as responsible employees. Responsible employees must report any 性 and gender-based discrimination to the 第九条 Office within 24 hours. 这包括:

  • 性侵犯
  • 约会和家庭暴力

This training is designed to assist employees with how to recognize and identify 性ual discrimination, the various forms of 性ual harassment, our commitment to responding to allegations, how to file a report and relevant resources available.
